Data Science & Computational Biology Trek

myCHOICE is excited to offer its second Data Science & Computational Biology Trek. Ten trainees were selected to travel to the Bay Area for 3 days of site visits, where site visits will highlight careers in genomics, data science, computational biology, machine learning, software & data engineering, and statistical modeling. Confirmed site visits are notated with an asterisk (*); other visits are still developing:

The trek will include TWO evening receptions with local alumni and professionals, and the opportunity to network with other graduate students and trainees from the University of California San Francisco and Stanford University.

Requirements & Expectations of myCHOICE Trek participants:
  • Graduate students, postdoctoral scientists, or alumni (within 2 years of departing the university) from the BSD, PSD, or PME are welcome to apply. Preference will be given to individuals in their 5th year of training and beyond. Applications from 1st and 2nd year graduate students will not be considered.

  • Become a myCHOICE Trainee by submitting the myCHOICE Trainee Application.

  • Complete the myCHOICE Trek Application.

  • Upon completion of the trek, reflect on your experience in a short statement (< 500 words)​.

  • myCHOICE will cover the airfare and hotel accommodations related to the trip. The trainee is responsible for daily transportation, meals, and any other expenses.
