Computational Biology Trek

myCHOICE is excited to return to the Bay Area for our computational biology-focused trek! Trainees will be selected to travel to the Bay Area for 3 days of site visits at companies highlighting careers in genomics, bioengineering, bioinformatics, and computational biology and chemistry. Site visits come in all shapes and sizes, frequently including a company presentation, a panel discussion with employees, a site tour, and free-form networking time (and sometimes food and swag). Requirements & Expectations of myCHOICE Trek participants:
  • Graduate students, postdoctoral scientists, or alumni (within 2 years of departing the university) from the BSD, PSD, or PME are welcome to apply. Preference will be given to individuals in their 5th year of training and beyond. Applications from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year graduate students will not be considered.

  • Complete the myCHOICE Trek Application.

  • Upon completion of the trek, reflect on your experience in a short statement (< 500 words)​.

  • myCHOICE will cover the airfare and hotel accommodations related to the trip. The trainee is responsible for individual private transportation during or on either end of the trek, meals, and any other expenses.
