Sachiko Seilie, PhD

Sr Medical Science Liaison for Sanofi

Sachi is a field-based medical affairs professional. In her role, she builds relationships with scientific experts in order to disseminate fair and balanced scientific data, support researchers, and provide her company with important external perspectives on the therapeutic area. She received her Ph.D. in Molecular Cell Biology at the University of Washington, and did a postdoc at the University of Chicago with the Microbiology/Pediatrics departments. She was an MSL for the Rheumatology division at Bristol Myers Squibb before moving on to the Allergy/Respiratory team with Sanofi.

Nicole Palacio Betancur, PhD

Medical Science Liaison at Takeda - Bio

Nicole Palacio Betancur is from Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. She obtained her BS in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez in 2014. She had her first experience in the Pharmaceutical industry as an undergrad through an internship program at Abbvie. After graduating she worked for Abbvie as an Associate Scientist in the technical operations department. She then decided to obtain a PhD in Immunology, which she completed at Northwestern University in Chicago last November. Currently, Nicole is a Medical Science Liaison at Takeda in the vaccine’s team. In this role Nicole interacts with the medical community, dengue experts, and public health experts to raise awareness of dengue and to serve as a scientific resource. In her free time Nicole enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring the outdoors, cooking and eating, traveling and listening to podcasts!

David Arndt, PhD

Medical Science Liaison, Neuropsychiatry - Midwest at Biogen

Dr. Arndt received his PhD in Psychology from Kansas State University and completed his postdoc at The University of Chicago. Throughout his graduate and postgraduate training, Dave published articles in both rodent and human literature and appreciated the additional experiences he gained at UChicago in the myCHOICE program. Since his time at UChicago, Dave has served in various industry capacities supporting medical communications and more recently in medical affairs in the areas of cardiac electrophysiology, nephrology, and neuropsychiatry. In his current role as medical science liaison, Dave communicates scientific and medical information to key medical experts in psychiatry across the Midwest.
