James Goodman, PhD

Postdoctoral Researcher, German Primate Center

Dr. Goodman is a postdoctoral scientist who has been conducting neuroscience research at the German Primate Center since 2019 in the Neurobiology Lab headed by Dr. Hans Scherberger. He earned his B.S. and M.S.in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University in 2013 and earned his Ph.D. in Computational Neuroscience from the University of Chicago in 2018 working in the laboratory of Dr. Sliman Bensmaia. Dr. Goodman studies the computations in the brain which drive hand movements. Among his activities as a post-doc are: presentation of his work at international conferences; preparation and presentation of materials for collaborative research grants; mentoring students through their own research projects; and participation in the international B-CRATOS consortium to develop brain-computer interface technology.

Chris Stamper, PhD

Postdoctoral Researcher, Karolinska Institutet

Chris completed his doctoral studies in Immunology at the University of Chicago in May 2021. His PhD focused on how the evolutionary history of the B cell receptor and developing single cell sequencing and monoclonal antibody cloning techniques to characterize human B cell and antibody responses to an experimental universal influenza vaccine and later SARS-CoV-2 infection. He currently works as a postdoc in Jenny Mjösberg’s Lab at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden where he researches innate like T cell and ILC populations in different compartments of the human gut.

Kasey van Hedger, PhD

Postdoctoral Researcher, Western University

Dr. Kasey Van Hedger (she/her) completed a PhD in Psychology at the University of Chicago in 2015 followed by a 3 yearpostdoc in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience. Since 2018 she has been a postdoc at Western University in London, Ontario and her research focuses on substance use and human neuroimaging.
