Background

ConnectSx is a Software as a Service (SaaS) provider delivering solutions to medical device manufacturers, their field sales force, and the broader provider network who need visibility into the medical device supply chain to improve operational efficiencies. We have developed an integrated software platform that comprehensively verifies, tracks, and manages all device information to reduce administrative and product waste, to improve the bottom line for all stakeholders.

ConnectSx is the only solution that singularly manages all needs within the medical device supply chain, leveraging mobile and web applications to manage inventory, track federally regulated unique device identifiers (UDI), track and manage product expirations, deliver product education to sales and surgical teams, and build actionable insights from the collected data for improved patient outcomes.

​Internship Description

Work with CEO and Lead Developer to define and scope feature enhancements to web and/or mobile applications. Depending on experience, interest, and qualifications, some project examples may include:

• Implementation of AI/ML resources to leverage collected data to drive feature improvements
• iOS feature development for iPad and iPhone applications
• Android development
• Backend web/API development, including integration with federal NIST and FDA databases
• Proof of Concept blockchain development to track select device data
• Feature enhancements for AngularJS web application

Specific Objectives

• Work closely with product and development team to define feature development opportunities
• Work with Lead Developer to scope one or more development projects and associated deliverables
• Work with Lead Developer to build and implement scoped functionality (or scoped proof-of-concept)
• Work with product and development teams to test and debug deliverables
• Work with product team to document features, functionality, and outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Graduate student or postdoctoral trainee
• Some experience with web and/or mobile development frameworks (one or more of the following):
  • AngularJS/Angular 2
  • HTML/CSS/Javascript
  • Python
  • iOS/Swift
  • Android
  • Blockchain
  • Google Cloud Platform (AutoML, Cloud Vision, etc.)
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently while incorporating advice of mentors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to problem solve both independently and in collaboration with teams.

• Knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, or blockchain technologies
• Knowledge of medical or surgical device industry
• Interest in public health policy or the field of medicine
