Externship Description

The primary goal of this project is to investigate and analyze existing academic research relevant to HireBrain’s mission of applying neuroscience, social science, and behavioral economics to enhance hiring processes and mitigating bias in recruitment. The ideal candidate will not only conduct a thorough literature review but also provide a business analysis on how best to apply the scholarly insights to future product applications, features, and enhancements on the HireBrain platform.

Primary Objectives

  • Produce a detailed literature review document summarizing key findings, methodologies, and insights from relevant academic studies in neuroscience, behavioral economics, psychology, and related fields.
  • Identify gaps in the existing research that could inform future strategies and inform tool development for HireBrain.
  • Provide recommendations for applying scholarly insights to enhance HireBrain’s current products and services, including suggestions on new features and enhancements based on the literature review.

Qualifications

  • Current PhD candidate at the University of Chicago (or equivalent program) in a relevant discipline such as neuroscience, behavioral economics, psychology, organizational behavior, or a related field.
  • Strong research background with experience in conducting literature reviews and synthesizing complex information.
  • Demonstrated ability to convey academic and/or technical concepts to non-specialist audiences.
  • Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Motivation to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring practices through evidence-based approaches, incorporating research findings into actionable product innovations.
