Science Policy & Communication Trek, Washington DC

October 23 – 26, 2023

Our roles as scientists transcend the practice of research and discovery. We are also responsible for translating complex scientific discoveries to the public, to decision-makers, and our elected officials. The landscape of science policy and communication is rich with roles for PhD-trained scientists who excel at providing interpretation, guidance, and perspective. The Science Policy & Communication Trek is designed for late-stage trainees who understand the value of their training in the public sphere and are actively preparing for careers in science policy or science communications. This Trek is an ideal primer for trainees who intend to apply for AAAS or Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy fellowships.
