Are  you  eager to bridge the gap between academia and the thriving  biotech  industry, but unsure about the journey ahead?  Join us for a seminar session where we’ll learn about transitioning into an industry postdoc program through researchers’ insights, experiences, and valuable advice on navigating this unique career path.

Britteny Cassaidy, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow, Pfizer

Dr. Cassaidy is a postdoctoral fellow in medicine design at Pfizer,  studying saRNA delivery to cells. Before joining Pfizer, she completed her Ph.D. at the University of Chicago in 2022 in Molecular Engineering with the Esser-Kahn lab, performing research on single dose vaccines, trained immunity, and controlled release formulations for NF-kB inhibitors. Prior to her doctoral studies, Dr. Cassaidy attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, as a chemistry major where she first performed plant exudate research with Prof Lori Biederman. Interested in making molecules, Britteny worked under Prof Brett VanVeller researching cell-penetrating peptides. She received her BS in 2016.

Rebecca Kattan, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow, AbbVie

Dr. Kattan is a postdoc fellow at AbbVie in Research Pharmacology. She earned her PhD in Development and Cell Biology from University of California – Irvine in 2023. Her doctoral research included projects on characterization of Hippo pathway WW domain binding and defining protein protein interaction network of human protein phospholipase D superfamily. Prior to her doctoral training, Dr. Kattan, completed her Mater in Science training in Chemistry at University of California, Los Angeles, and her bachelors in Biochemistry in 2015 from California State University, Fullerton.

Kyra Laubach, PhD

Postdoctoral Researcher, AbbVie

Dr. Kyra Laubach received her PhD in Integrative Pathobiology from the University of California, Davis and her B.S. in Biology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Her PhD work was centered in cancer biology and leveraging multi-omic approaches to study the intersection of oncogenesis and metabolism. Kyra is currently working on her postdoctoral training at AbbVie in South San Francisco, where she is part of both Computational Oncology and Immuno-Oncology within discovery sciences.

Ritama Paul, PhD

Postdoctoral Scientist, J&J

Dr. Paul is a science enthusiast and a passionate cancer researcher. She finished my PhD in cancer biology from the University of Cincinnati, exploring the role of extracellular matrix and downstream signaling pathways in breast cancer. Following her graduation, she moved to UPenn as a postdoctoral researcher, developing a novel combination of proton radiation and CAR-T cell therapy for glioblastoma and meduloblastoma. Dr. Paul is currently at Johnson and Johnson, working towards improving immunotherapy in solid tumors.
